With rebellious and innovative spirit, they both kept abreast of the trend at the times. Whether in life backgrounds, works styles, or professional achievements, two masters had similarities and differences to be concerned and analysed. They were both affected by the simplicity of modernism and the romantic punk of post-modernism. Regarding the personalities and works, they were also both influenced directly or indirectly by the contemporary feminism and feminist activities. This study focuses on both sensibility and rationality, firstly to collect relevant data, and then apply analysis and comparison with Documentary Analysis. This study analyzed and disassembled the design factors from the classic clothing works and life stories of CoCo Chanel and Vivienne Westwood. New source of design inspiration and practise for new style design were investigated by above analysed information with three different methods - "shape grammar", "structure variation method", and "Gestalt-oriented Approach for Creation". Comparisons were also made to discover the differences between these three methods. In addition, a survey had been carried out with the sampling of commercial pendants and female rings for Taiwanese brand. 58 and 70 valid questionnaires were collected. SDT (semantic differential technique) was applied to explore whether these designs met consumers' satisfaction or not. Style perception, user preference, and purchase intention were studied to discover the impact factors of consumer preferences in imagery style and design attributes. Finally, an accessory design was created based on the results of this study; a new style and new inspiration were imported into the design features in order to meet consumer need. The explore on the creation-process study are hoped to be utilized in the future to develop new products, and provide the references for jewelry companies, designers, and related design industry.
