Therefore, grasp the load’s power consumption condition is essential for requirement of reducing production cost and improving production efficiency. This thesis is provide a three phase power measurement system to measure the plenty of power quality parameters such as active power, reactive power, apparent power, harmonics, RMS for voltage and current, power factor and temperature…etc. According to these parameters, operator could imply that whether the loads work normally or not. This system is design with two modes, the “I/O output mode” and the “Modbus link mode”. When the system works in the “I/O output mode” an I/O switch will be triggered to send out an alarm message or stop the load when the load is occur abnormal condition. In the ”Modbus link mode”, when the same issue occurs, in addition to triggering the I/O switch, it also provides a communication interface, a Modbus in specific, which is able to link with the PLC. After that, the PLC can make suitable corresponding acts to rectify such problems. Operator can know the load work condition via our system and determine the appropriate repairing and maintenance timing to prevent the malfunction becoming a serious disaster.
