The differences of these two among students with sexes, grades and location of schools are also discussed. With the help of related references, the researcher modified the Meter of Reading behaviors by Huang Chia-yin and the Meter of the sense of well-being by Lin Yan-pin as her research tools. The students from sixty-nine junior high schools in Taichung City are taken as research objects. 432 effective questionnaires are randomly sampled in different areas. Descriptive Statistics, Independent-Samples t Test, One way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation are adopted to process and to analyze the data. The results are as follows: 1. The reading behaviors of junior high schools students are generally fair. 2. The sense of well-being of junior high school students are generally fair; among them the harmonious social relationship is the best. 3. During holidays or winter and summer vacations, their reading quantity is far bigger and the time longer than that in regular semester. 4. Girls perform far better than their male counterparts in that period mentioned above. 5. Boys prefer extracurricular reading about geography and history when girls take literature, novel and prose as their favorite. 6. 46% of junior high school students do extracurricular reading without counseling. 60% of them like to read alone. 7. Parents as consultants when the 7th graders read show the highest proportion. Teacher as consultants when the 8th graders read show the highest proportion, and no consultants when the 9th graders read show the highest proportion. 8. Students from Mountain District show the highest proportion when they read without counseling. Students from Sea District show the highest proportion when they reading with teachers as consultants. Students from Settlement District show the highest proportion when they read with classmates as consultants.. Students from Middle District show the highest proportion when they read with parents as consultants. 9. Students from Middle and Sea Districts read more than those from Mountain and Settlement Districts during holidays or winter and summers vacations. 10. Girls show higher proportion than boys on life satisfaction, harmonious social relationship, and the wholesome sense of well-being. Students with different grades and areas show no differences on the sense of well-being. 11. Reading behavior and the sense of well-being show partially relevant. Followed by the conclusions, final suggestions are listed for the references of parents, teachers, educational administration and coming researches. Chang, Hsueh-Shan 張學善 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 104 zh-TW
