It has not only seriously endangered traffic safety, but also many families lost their loved ones. All people are highly concerned about this type of accident. Authorities of government have actively in regulations, policy-oriented, propaganda and banning to effectively prevent drunk driving on their traffic accidents. At the same time carried out market research to compare product features and advantages in current market, and in order to develop suitable instrument to help police officers on duty to do a preliminary screening of drunk drivers. This suitable instrument could be to avoid irrationality drunk drivers attack or hurt police officers, or caused other people's accidental injuries occurred. The objective of the study based on the current detection principle of the breath alcohol measuring instruments in the market and compared to the functionalities, aesthetic design modes of operation and other features of the devices. This study determines the current status of multi-functional breath alcohol measuring instrument market and its future development. Finally, the new breath alcohol measuring instrument gave been designed by questionnaires and factor analysis to work on the critical design criteria. So the new breath alcohol measuring instrument has the multi-functional, ease of use, reasonable price, safe to use, fast response, high efficiency and reliable breath alcohol measuring instrument.
