management has been developed since early 20th century through number of stages:
quality control (QC); quality assurance (QA) and total quality control (TQC). Scopes
and concepts have been extended from stage to stage. And Total Quality Management
(TQM) is one of popular and efficient management concept in a modern organization.
The differences between last quality managements and TQM are: last quality
managements are obviously assigned major duties and responsible of quality
department in an organization and quality is managed according to certain standards
which have been built up. Meanwhile TQM requires involvement of all people,
departments, sectors in an organization and TQM implementation also requires
continuous improvement.
Even though TQM implementation help organization to improve not only quality
of products, service but also management systems, there are still the gaps lasted
between each level in an organization that lead the achievement from TQM
implementation is not as planed and organization expectation.
The case study in this research is a manufacture company with two year
implemented TQM, the research will focus to find the gaps between levels in factory.
