However, quite a few public arts in the MRT space are being turned out by the principle of its functional designing. Less research has been taking into consideration in the field of the human factors as psychology, behavior and interaction reflected in the public arts . In the study researchers focus on the interaction of people and public art in the MRT space by the way of literature review, field observation and questionnaire methods. The study is divided into four stages. First of all, it is essential to carry out the literature review of the concept and characteristics of public arts, the intervention of the domestic and foreign public arts in the MRT space. Secondly, following the environmental psychology as the theoretical basis, researchers select typical cases, audience behaviors and psychological needs to have a further study with Taipei MRT space as a research scope. Thirdly, from the perspective of the users’ experience eight adjective terms were chosen as possible to test audience’ feeling on public arts. Then a survey was conducted on audience’ questionnaire which asked their experience of different feelings about public arts. The audiences were to evaluate semantic feelings based on the corresponding relationship between different styles of public arts and different psychological feelings. Eventually, through data collected and analyzed the principles of designing public arts were extracted. Also some problems to which researchers are trying to find solutions in the latter research are put forward.
