However the drive which is influenced by vibration, may be destroyed or get poor transmission efficiency in some particular frequency. Therefore, the reduction of vibration is important for the drives.
In this study, we use the vibration testing machine to simulate the vibratory environment. Iometer software, which can record the transmission efficiency and observe the transmission efficiency of hard disk drive and solid state disk in various vibratory environment will be adopted. In general, the variables which might change the transmission efficiency include the sloping angle, the vibratory acceleration, the vibratory frequency and the damping ratio. Thus, using different damping material in some particular vibratory environment to enhance the transmission efficiency of the HDD and the SSD is most. Moreover, we also simulate the transmission efficiency of a data from the SSD to the HDD.
Consequently, the SSD can keep a good performance at a normal vibratory environment. Also, the HHD can have a batter transmission efficiency by using an appropriate material damping.
