Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 應用物理暨化學系自然科學教學碩士學位班 === 103 === Abstract The main purpose of this research is to investigate experimentally the effect of mind mapping technique on science teaching. Forty-six second grade elementary school students from a public school in New Taipei city were chosen as the participants. They were divided into two groups:one experimental and one control group. The experimental group was taught using mind mapping pedagogies, while the control group was taught using traditional pedagogies. The whole curriculum lasted for five weeks, two classes per week, i.e. ten classes in total. The research used the students' achievement, attitude and interest as a quantitative measure of effectiveness. Both groups were tested before and after the testing period. A qualitative measure was provided through feedback form, mind maps, learning sheets, teaching introspections, and interviews. They helped understanding the feelings and difficulties encountered during the experiment. The data was then analyzed, summarized. In conclusion, it was found that mind mapping technique: 1.Can improve the learning achievement of second grade students inNatural Science. 2.Truly enhances students’ interests in learning science. 3.Is a pedagogy well received by the students. Following the results of this research, it is suggested to use mind mapping techniques to teach second grade elementary students. This research can serve as a future reference.
