Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 體育學系 === 103 === This study aims to discuss and analyze the connection between physical fitness of different levels and academic performance of junior high school students.in New Taipei City. The objects of this study are 3872 students of seventh to ninth graders in the second half of 2013 Academic Year and the first half of 2014 Academic Year. The analysis of physical fitness of different levels and academic performance adopted in the same period of time is processed with the statistical method of Pearson Correlation Coefficient and One-Way ANOVA. In terms of relevance, evidence shows that, to both male and female students, there is a significant relevance between cardio-respiratory fitness and academic performance in average. The flexibility and cardiopulmonary function of male students are highly relevant to their grades in the seven domains; while female students shows significant relevance in flexibility, muscular power, skeletal muscular endurance, and cardiopulmonary function. In addition, the BMI, muscular power, and skeletal muscular endurance of male students are relevant to their partial academic performance; while the BMI of female students reveals the same result. In terms of difference, evidence shows that the flexibility, muscular power, skeletal muscular endurance, and cardiopulmonary function of male students bias their grades in average, especially their cardiopulmonary function. Meanwhile, the physical fitness of female students shows great difference compared to their average grades. Furthermore, there is significant difference between male students’ BMI, flexibility, muscular power, skeletal muscular endurance, and their partial academic performance; while female students’ BMI reveals significant difference in their partial grades.
