碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 運動教育研究所 === 103 === In this study, a professional baseball player who strived for purchasing to perform in Major League Baseball for 7 years was adopted as the researcher. Through the researcher’s self-narrative of his athlete’s career in United States, an insight was gained on the researcher’s sports professional career during his played aboard years. Through the narrative inquiry method in qualitative research and presented through story-telling, the played aboard in States process was reconstructed. The data sources include: the researcher’s reflection, written logs, and collection of relevant documents. For the data analysis part, the narrative analysis method was adopted. Finally, after the data collection, the paper underwent crystallization for integrated presentation. Additionally, after the peer examination, the research process was written to express the stand and reflection of the researcher, thereby enhancing the faithfulness of this paper. Findings show that self-determination has its importance during the researcher’s baseball career in States. Researcher recommended that young baseball athletes should give it a try to play aboard as early as possible. Researcher also suggested that building a baseball training center which could provide training and physical rehabilitation is necessary and urgent.
