Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 創意生活設計系 === 103 === This research selects teachers from 62 schools which are previously involved in the “On-campus Disaster Prevention Facility Project in 2013” as participants. This study aims to examine whether this project influences the teachers’ knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention. To evaluate the effect of this project, the teachers who participate in or not in the project are compared, and results are provided as the reference for related institutions. This is a quantitative research of which data are collected by online questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Independent-Samples t Test, one way ANOVA and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient. In this research, 320 questionnaires are sent out and 250 questionnaires are collected. The return rate is 78.13 %. However, only 247 valid questionnaires are kept after the incomplete ones are excluded. Thus, the validity rate is 77.19%. Sampling error is 2.98% and confidence level is 95%. The results of this study suggest as follows: 1. The findings indicate that teachers who participate in or voluntarily join the “On-campus Disaster Prevention Facility Project” show significant difference in knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention. Thus, it is necessary for teachers to attend this project. 2. The results show that schools in Type Two and Three are more familiar with the knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention among the total three categories in this project. Especially, schools in Type Two possess better knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention with the mean of disaster prevention knowledge at 4.12, the mean of disaster prevention attitude at 3.88 and the mean of disaster prevention skill at 4.27. 3. Variables in different backgrounds suggest: i. Deans possess better responsibility for disaster prevention than homeroom teachers. ii. High ages and long service length influence teachers’ personal disaster prevention ability. iii. Male teachers show better responsibility for disaster prevention than female teachers. iv. Teachers having experienced disasters and taught victims have significant difference than others. v. Primary school teachers show better knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention. 4. The results of correlation demonstrate that knowledge, awareness and behavior of disaster prevention are significantly correlated. However, low and middle correlation account for the majority, meaning teachers might not effectively apply those disaster prevention skills taught in the project as reaction reference when disasters occur.
