One part focuses on the direct investment in Taiwan, and the other part focuses on the partnerships with Taiwan subsidiaries to expand into China market. The analysis is about Japanese enterprises' considerations and changes of their investment strategies, when they first expanded into Taiwan market. And then it investigates about the partnership strategies and considerations that the Japanese enterprises and their Taiwan subsidiaries nowadays have for the investment in China. This case study draws the data from 3 Japanese subsidiaries in Taiwan who cooperated with their parent companies to expand into China market. Through in-depth interviews and related data collection, this study intends to further understand the changes of Japanese enterprises’ investment in Taiwan and their strategies of expanding into China market by partnership with their subsidiaries. The result of this research indicated that the early days of Taiwan had low-cost labors, Japanese company more likelbased on profits, they reduced personal costs and trends to labor oriented in Taiwan investment. Recently as environmental industries transformed to demand market oriented. Japanese company and Taiwan's long term cooperations has been established fiduciary relationships before get into China. The specific advantages of Taiwan and China share the same languages, races and cultures, also human resources, networks ans capital management from Taiwan. Moreover, Taiwan's subsidiary plays strategic role,has been gradually changed from factory abroad entity to contributor and provides technological development.
