With the promotion of of educational training act, professional counseling act, as wll as checking and auditing act, the occupational hazards are decreasing. To achieve the better working environment and promote the employees’ literacy, it should be done by the men. The motivation of the study came from the case that a uint had higher frquency of employees’ unsafe behavior than others after imported a new manufacture pocess. We thought that the men should be reason why the case happened. The model of managers’ safety leadership and attitude are impressively impact the employees. On the other hand, the personality is closely related to the safety performance. Thus many stydies have investigated how to promote the managers’ safety leadership to decrease the employees’ unsafe behavior, and how to improve the unsafe working environment to increase the safety performance.
The purpose of this study is going to realize the current status of the managers’ safety leadership, and further examine the effect of the managers’ safety leadership on employees’ unsafe behavior and safety performance. We collect our sample by structured questionnaire which including the demographic characteristics, managers’ safety leadership, unsafe behavior and safety performance, and we adopted judgment sampling to select a manufacturing corporation in Yunlin in Taiwan, processing statistical analytics.
The findings show that the managers’ safety leadership is significantly relevant with employees’ unsafe behavior and the frequency of false alarm, minor injuries and disabling injuries. Moreover the frequency of employees’ unsafe behavior is significantly relevant with the frequency of false alarm, minor injuries and disabling injuries. Besides, if the model of managers’ safety leadership is care and working first, the personality of employees with more internal control and sense of security is positive relevant. And if the model of managers’ safety leadership is control, the personality of employees with more external control is negative relevant. In addition, we find that the impact of the control leadership, sense of security, and details will decrease if the managers over emphasize them. In conclusion, the result shows that the injury events from unsafe behavior decrease and safety performance become better, when the manager adopt the care leadership, or when there’re more internal control employees. The finding in this study may be a suggestion for manager or subsequent researcher to refer.
