Demand of the photovoltaic industry made the solar industry more competitive. The quality of solar cells would affect the output of electricity. Controlling the quality could reduce unnecessary waste. Therefore, inspecting is an important process in the production. The inspectors needed to monitor the process of the production and ensure product quality. But inspectors are required to stare on the product for a long term which can cause visual discomfort and the diseases of eyes. The visibility of inspection depends on the lighting conditions. Inappropriate and intense lighting illumination could increase the visual fatigue and work performance. The changes of correlated color temperature (CCTs) and brightness in lighting would affect the physiological and psychological responses of people. Combination of CCTs and illumination of the light environment was an appropriate reference direction. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the visual fatigue and work performance of solar-cell inspectors in specific lighting condition. This study combined three types of lighting CCTs (4000K, 5600K and 6500K) and three illuminations (750lx, 1500lx and 3000lx) to set up the lighting of working conditions. Eight participants were recruited as the solar-cell inspectors to work one hour. Physiological responses of the participants which including Galvanic Skin Response(GSR) ,Skin Temperature(ST), Heart Rate(HR) ,Critical Fusion Frequency(CFF) and subjective questionnaires which including visual fatigue questionnaires, work pressure questionnaires and wellbeing questionnaires would be collected as the evaluations. Results showed the most best lighting condition was the CCTs = 5600K and illumination = 1500lx which was a better lighting environment in visual fatigue. When inspectors in the lighting environment could not feel blurred vision, eye pain and dizziness,so the findings of the study will expect the CCTs = 5600K and illumination = 1500lx to provide a contribution for the lighting design of a good interior factory in the future which could not only increase the working performance but also decrease the fatigue during working .
