The basic principle of this method is to use Stokes parameter to sketch Poincare sphere, then calculate phase difference to obtain the relationship between the change of reflective index and phase difference. By measuring the sample covered by sugar water, the phase difference measurement shows that the detection sensitivity is ten times more than variation of transmission does. As for the sample which is covered by DE-PMMA, the sensitivity is higher for measurement based on phase difference than measuring the change in transmission.
