Cam-Bot device is a smart mini robot equipped with a camera , microphone and speaker, with advanced face detection and face tracking function, also with facial emotion recognition, speech recognition function and mechanism driving module. In order to utilize the video communication function of Cam-Bot, users can use Skype Application as the main user interface to experience Skype text chat services, voice calls and video calls; Cam-Bot device can be controlled via CAM-BOT Agent software (Independent Process). This study will design"CAM-BOT Skype Extra" as a communication module between the Skype Application and CAM-BOT Agent, "CAM-BOT Skype Extra" can communicate with the Skype Application via Skype4COM (Skype API), also can conduct data communication with CAM-BOT Agent through the IPC (Inter-Process Communication). Therefor, with the combination of Skype Community service and Skype application, Cam-Bot’s speech recognition device, WebCam, functional movement of mechanism can be used to provide users value-added services with video calls, text chat.
