| Summary: | 碩士 === 中華科技大學 === 土木防災與管理碩士班 === 104 === On the date June 27th, 2015, an incident of dust explosion accident happened at 20:32 at Formosa Fun Coast. Such incident occurred during an event “Color Play Asia – Party”, hosted by two companies. Incident was suspected to be caused by explosion and burning from corn starch and food coloring. This incident has caused a casualty of 5 deaths and 484 injured. Though I was not able to join the rescue mission of this incident due to duty allocation, but with 10 years of experience serving for the Bali fire department, thus have a vast knowledge of Bali’s rescue methods and resources available, therefore understands the difficulty of the rescue mission of this incident. The rescue mission was a joint force by Taipei city, Keelung city, Taoyuan city, National Army, Fire Departments, etc. Totaling of 144 ambulances, 18 transport vehicles for the wounded, 88 various rescue vehicles from the fire department and 1504 rescue personnel. All patients were sent to hospital within 4 hours, no doubt a successful rescue mission, but even the success, the damage was done, I have to wonder, could the rescue operation be better? Could the medical resources be more suited for families of the victims?
This research is to review regarding Bali’s Dust Explosion incident, by combining the photos taken at the scene and the timeline of the incident, also visiting the people who joined the rescue mission, restoring how the incident happened, analyzing the danger elements and rescue operations, then comparing to other rescue operation of explosion incidents, also discussion with experts, to find out a better rescue method or tactical plan.
This research is to find a better way of rescue from analyzing and researching of actual rescue operations and introspection, so when a similar incident happens, we are prepared to face the challenge, also to provide better rescue resources and care by giving suggestions to rescue units and medical teams.
