Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 科技管理學系 === 104 === The objective of this study was to investigate the relations among the early English learning experience, the English learning attitude and the English learning achievement of fifth and sixth graders. A research survey was conducted through the use of a questionnaire. The subjects of 252 students for this study were sampled from an elementary school in Taichung City. The data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and the Pearson product-moment correlation. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. Over 80% of students had English learning experience in Kindergarten. 2. Over 80% of students have had learning experience in English cram school after attending elementary school. 3. Subjects had a positive English learning attitude. 4. Subjects had good English learning achievement. 5. There were no significant differences between fifth and sixth graders’ early English learning experience, English learning attitude and English learning achievement, based on the variable of grade. 6. There were parts of significant differences between male and female students’ early English learning experience and English learning attitude. Also, there were significant differences between male and female students’ English learning achievement. 7. Students with different early English learning experience had significant differences in their learning attitude toward English schoolwork and active learning. 8. Students with different early English learning experience had significant differences in their English learning achievement. 9. There were parts of significant positive and negative correlations between the early English learning experience and the English learning attitude. 10. A significant positive correlation between the early English learning experience and the English learning achievement was found. 11. There were parts of significant positive correlations between the English learning attitude and the English learning achievement . Finally, based on the research findings, several suggestions are provided as references for educational authorities, school English teachers, and further research.
