Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 運輸科技與物流管理學系 === 104 === Despite the many benefits of walking to school, the children’s safety of walking on the street has been a main concern for may parents. The purpose of this research is to develop safe elementary school paths, and to evaluate the students’ satisfaction toward these paths. By reviewing the literature, we designed and developed three elementary school paths, and evaluated students’ satisfaction by introducing a 20-item questionnaire. We recruited students in the 3rd or 4th grade to participate the study. We explained and walked through the three elementary paths with these students. A total of 26 students completed a satisfaction evaluation questionnaire for each school path. A descriptive analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests were conducted by SPSS. Analysis of the questionnaire score showed a high satisfaction score for students for the three elementary school paths. Specifically, using 5 as highest average score, the satisfaction scores were 3.997 for school path A, 4.007 for school path B, and 3.936 for school path C. In addition, the ANOVA test showed there is no significant difference in the satisfaction score among the three paths (P<0.05). Recognizing the factors that affect patients' satisfaction with the elementary school paths can guide the future researcher to strategies to improve the safety for children walking to school.
