This thesis divided into six chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the origin and the motive of this thesis. Chapter 2 gives a brief introduction of the author of the source and its content and applied theories. Chapter 3 illustrates the research process and the translation process. Chapter 4 is the translated text of the source book. Chapter 5 is a summary of the translation experience and an analysis of the translation techniques involved. Chapter 6 concludes the thesis with the author’s thoughts. In this process of translation, the author found it a difficult task to properly visualize the original expression. The root problems were the structural difference between English and Chinese sentences, grammatical analysis and decipherment. These factors cause disarrayed translation which fails to explicitly express the author's original vision, resulting in a serious gap between the original text and the translation. Thus, building up vocabulary and broadly reading and cultivating acute observation and imagination are important tasks of a competent translator. keywords:conversion, amplification, omission, repetition, common errors. 李憲榮 陳孟琳 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 143 zh-TW
