The method of this study is quantitative survey. The survey was developed by the directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten in Taichung City. The aspect of stress included work loading, interpersonal relationships, professional knowledge, the higher pressure. The aspect of coping strategies include problem-solving, emotional adjustment, support seeking, escape-avoidance. The survey included 120 public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten directors stratified and selected randomly from Taichung City. The data obtained by questionnaires was analyzed by frequencies, mean, standard, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The conclusions of the research were as follow.(1) The job stress of the directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten in Taichung City is medium level, in which the work loading is the highest. To face with the stress,instead of adjustment strategies, the support seeking is the most commonly used in coping strategies.(2) The directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten different in age ,working experience periods, experience periods of directors, and education levels are all significant ly different in job stress. The directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten different in working experience periods are all significant difference in coping strategies.(3)There is a significant negative correlation between the job stress and escape-avoidance coping strategies of the directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten.(4) The job stress of the directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten can effectively predict the coping strategies and the higher pressure is the highest prediction. According to results of the study, some recommendations will be offered for the educational administrations, elementary school, directors at public elementary schools affiliated kindergarten and future research.
