It is a material with excellent dielectric and optical properties. The nanostructures of zinc oxide is not only easy synthesis but also in low cost. In recent years, a variety of zinc oxide nano patterns have been discovered, such as granular, linear, flower, sheets, columnar and tubular, in which the nano lines, nanorods and nanotablets are most widely used. Purpose of this study is to study the microwave hot water condition for the synthesis of ZnO nanomaterials, where a mixture of zinc acetate with ethylene diamine were employed. The concentration of reactants, pH values, and temperature have been varied for modification. The zinc oxide produced in this study are all hexagonal crystal structure (wurtzite). At pH = 8, the resulted zinc oxides are mostly in stick patterns. At pH=9, the zinc oxides are a columnar rod patterns and agglomerated. At pH=10, the zinc oxides are mostly stellate patterns.
