Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 教育研究所 === 104 === This study is aimed to explore the relationships among junior high school students’ ethnic identity, self-esteem and mental health: Taoyuan City as an example. The approach adopted questionnaires and using stratified random sampling to investigate 1008 samples that include students from 20 schools. Collecting data were analyzed by the statistical methods of descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and SEM and cluster analysis. The conclusions are as follows: 1.All the degree of ethnic identity, self-esteem and mental health to those respondents are high. 2.The background variables have strong influences to the three factors. 3.There is a high correlation between every two variables of ethnic identity, self-esteem and mental health. 4.“Ethnic identity” and “self-esteem” are significantly predictable toward “mental health”. 5.“Self-Esteem” is the moderate variable of “ethnic identity” and “mental health”. 6.In Taoyuan City, every district presents in different groups in this research with three variable scores. There is a cluster relationship. The thirteen districts may be better to divide into three groups.
