Research indicates that Non-Profit Organizations tend to employ more and more volunteer workers due to considerations of operation costs. Theoretically, volunteer worker seems engaging jobs through their commitments to organization’s core value, however, differences of organizational commitment between career and volunteer workers remain unknown. This study seeks to investigate differences of 3 components of organizational commitment: value commitment, effort commitment and retaining commitment, and further impacts to 2 components of job efficiencies: work motivation and job satisfaction. Totally 300 questionnaires were sent and 213 were received, results indicate that:
I. Differences of effort commitment do exist between 2 kind of workers, but no differences in value and retaining commitments.
II. All 3 components of organizational commitments affects 2 components of job efficiencies.
Practically, this study illustrates that administrative should consider varies reasons why volunteer workers engaging their jobs. Academically, above situation was suggested to be verified in further studies.
