The relationship between the parent’s background and their educational expectations and attitude toward learning skill and arts of their children will be studied in this thesis. This study is based a questionnaire survey which surveys the parents of children who is in public kindergarten and private kindergarten from the age of four to the age before entering the elementary school. One thousand questionnaires were made according to the “Hsinchu parents’ educational expectations and attitude of learning the skill and arts for their children”, and deployed by stratified sampling method. In total, 907 valid questionnaires were returned. These data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé method, independent-sample t-test, and Pearson correlation, and the result is summarized as listed below. 1.There are close to 70 percent of preschool children in Hsinchu who have attended the skill and arts classes. Most of them attended arts-type classes and their parents spent less than 3000 NTD per month for their preschool children. The main reason for attending the skill and arts classes is “My child is interesting in” or “My child wants to learn”. 2.Hsinchu parents have high educational expectations for their preschool children. They show the highest level of character and behavior and lowest level of learning performance. 3.In Hsinchu, there is a huge difference on the all aspects of educational expectations of the parents for their preschool children if they are different in “Gender”, “Age”, “Education level”, ‘Occupation”, “Household monthly income” and “Inhabited area”. 4.Hsinchu parents have “middle-high degree” for their preschool children and their attitude toward learning skills and arts. They show the highest level for the behavior of concern and lowest level for the demand and motivation. 5.In Hsinchu, there is a huge difference on attitude of parents towards their preschool children learning skill and art classes if they are different in “Age”, “Education level”, ‘Occupation”, “Household monthly income” and “Inhabited area”. 6.Hsinchu parents’ educational expectations for the preschool children of is obviously positive proportional to their attitude for their preschool children to learn skills and arts. Consequently, according to the suggestions of the result, it offers a consultion for the administrations, preschool parents, and the future study. TZONG-MING WEY 魏宗明 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 159 zh-TW
