Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 纖維與複合材料學系 === 104 === Today, people have higher expectations of living environment as a result of higher standards of living. The noise pollution that we commonly encounter affects the degree of tranquility that is expected. Noise can be kept to a minimum, provided that sound absorbent materials are properly used. The sound absorbent materials proposed in this study consist of nonwoven fabrics. As the majority of fibers are inflammable, the flame retardant capacity of selected fibers and fabrics has to be further examined in view of the potential fire, especially when fibers and fabrics are used indoors, in public places, and in interior decoration in mass transportation. Therefore, in this study, the protective perforated nonwoven fabrics are designed and examined in order to have multiple functions in terms of sound absorption, flame retardant capability, thermal insulation, and electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness. Flame retardant polyester (FPET) fiber and low melting point polyester (LPET) fiber are needle punched using a nonwoven manufacturing process, in order to form FPET/LPET matrices. These matrices are then combined with basalt woven fabric via needle punching in order to prepare multi-functional protective perforated composite nonwoven fabrics. The test results indicate that when using FPET/LPET matrices as the surface layer, FPET fiber highly improves the flame retardant efficacy, sound absorption, and thermal insulation, while LPET fiber efficiently forms greater amounts of pores, which benefits the absorption of sound waves. Using basalt woven fabric, on the other hand, increases the mechanical and thermal properties of composite nonwoven fabrics, while preserving their structure and decreasing their strength loss after combustion.
