Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 統計學系統計與精算碩士班 === 104 === Gaussian processes such as Brownian motion or Ornstein- Uhlenbeck process was implemented to describe continuous trait evolution on the phylogenetic tree in phylogenetic comparative methods (PCMs). Trait values obey multivariate normal distribution under this hypothesis. In this article, we consider using Brownian motion and Brownian Bridge for continuous trait evolution to describe traits variety. We propose a novel method to analyze traits data sets. At the same time, we also propose the algorithm to estimate the parameters. Finally, we analyze several empirical data from literature.
