Based on coupled-wave theory, the diffraction angle is design at a large angle near which facilitates the solving of insufficient problem in effective index of commercial recording materials and ease to achieve polarization selection. Therefore, based on a proposed sandwiched-type recording setup, the radial polarizer can be fabricated with a continue exposure of fan-shape region. The fabricated element was test by a white light source with an operation band of 443.55 nm, and with diffraction efficiencies of s- and p-polarizations of 89.6% and 27.6%, respectively. Finally, the intensity distribution of radially polarized beam was checked with an analyzer at different orientations.
