Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 宗教學系碩士在職專班 === 104 === In the Taiwanese folk religion, dang-ki (literally youth diviner) or lingjis (literally spiritual diviner) serves as the spirit medium between gods and humans. Mysterious and mysterious, dang-ki gains certain supernatural powers by means of being possessed by gods. The subject of the present study is the Wu-ji Guanhuang Gong located in Banqiao of New Taipei City, Taiwan. The study investigates shared characteristics of the believers, the belief development and organization system which result from the change of society, and the influence of charity events on believers. In the modern society, dang-ki has transformed into something else. The abbot of Banqiao Wuju Guanhuang Gong, Xinquan Shen, leads his believers to do charity work, which is another way of ego-transcending spiritual practice. By caring about the society, dang-ki or lingjis can rise above and in fact realize the spirit of religion. The aim of the present study is three-fold: to gain a deeper understanding about dang-ki or lingji, to clarify some misunderstandings about the spirit media, and to shed some light on the modern functions of the diviners. Keywords: Wu-ju Guanhuang Gong, dang-ki, Lingji
