Online shopping has changed customers purchasing behavior due to the rapid development of Internet technology. In the meanwhile, the area of augmented reality in online shopping has become a reality in some companies and has tremendous potential in various applications in e-commerce. The implementation of AR based technique is helpful for users to make decision when doing online shopping, and also increases the participation and interaction between the online shopping systems and the consumers. This paper focuses mainly on the adoption of augmented reality in online shopping context. The research of this work aim to understand the actual implementations of augmented reality in online shopping, and provides a comprehensive study of augmented reality including its history, applications, challenges and future trends.
