Libraries offer a service of online database literature search and it covers all kinds of subject, including research regarding ABI/Inform Complete in this case. In the late 86th year of the Republic Era, Compact Disc Read Only Memory gradually became the main storage media. Personal computers connecting with Compact Disc Read Only Memory, therefore, have been the major equipment in library to assist the whole school in searching database. Since 1990, Compact Disk Database and Online Database have been used as a principal tool of those who need relevant literatures for academic research and teaching. Online Database substitutes for Compact Disk Database and solves the problems of update speed, software upgrade, hardware facilities, capacities and maintenance management which happen when teachers and students use Compact Disk Database. From 2000 to date with development of Internet and Web interface, online database will constantly increase the diversity of content, advance the convenience of interface use and promote the compatibility of managerial functions so as to react to market competition, industrial change, client requirements and etc. In this case, the content of ABI/Inform Complete is going into diversified development. Besides embodying journals, commercial newspapers, trade journals, noted commercial magazines, Master’s theses, industrial reports and so on to change with needs and competition of market. It is easier now to develop electronic resources platforms because technologies improve every day. Journal publicizing institutions create their own electronic journal platforms and promote them. Journal database manufacturer can only secure the authorization to postpone electronic journals going online. With The Internet era coming, it led to several problems, for example, the change of how teachers and students use data, more methods to search for electronic journals, market competition, sub-replacement fertility, difficulty of school in recruiting and reduced budget. Manufacturers start authorizing commerce electronic resources related and developing platform functions in order to maintain competitive advantages in the market. ABI/INFORM Complete is used as the area and the database agent company is the object. Through collection of secondary data, actual interview of company and observation of market, adopting competitive strategy as the base to start a series of analysis like external environment analysis, environment of industrial competition analysis, Porter five forces analysis and core resources capabilities analysis to understand what the industrial competitiveness patterns are, the opportunities and threats the company is facing are, the advantages and disadvantages are. Then proceed with SWOT analysis and TOWS analysis so as to draft a feasible competitive strategy evaluation and raise one suitable to the company.
