Description
Summary:碩士 === 義守大學 === 化學工程學系暨生物技術與化學工程研究所 === 104 === Combat shoes are designed to meet the demands in combat missions, their exterior appearance、performances and physical properties are more demanding than civilian shoes. The rubber outsole of combat shoes is the subject of this study. By studying the formulation-property relationships, we intend to construct guiding rules to finding optimal formulations for rubber outsoles of high performance combat shoes. In this study, a base formulation for rubber outsole was employed as a reference. By varying the dosages of important ingredients such as carbon black N234, sulfur, silica VN3, activator ZnO, and accelerator TS, a total of 9 formulations were compounded. The physical properties of the 9 compounds were measured and compared in order to find the optimal formulation. When the amounts of carbon black N234 and silica VN3 in the formulations are comparable, the sample hardness, tensile strength, tear strength decrease while the sample elongation increases. The addition of excessive amount of sulfur causes decreases of the tensile strength, elongation and tear strength, DIN abrasion resistance but an increase in the Akron wear resistance. Without the addition of ZnO, the tensile strength decreases while the elongation, tear strength and DIN abrasion resistance increase. It is also found that the use of accelerator TS has little effect on the measured properties. After the analysis of the test results, the compound with 1 phr of sulfur, 6.2 phr of ZnO, 10 phr of carbon black N234,32 phr of silica VN3 and 0.1 phr of tetramethylthiuram monosulfide(TS) has the best overall performance over the other compounds. The formulation of this compound will be suggested for manufacturing the rubber outsoles of combat shoes.
