Description
Summary:碩士 === 義守大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 104 === With the social change in recent years, pets have become our partners or even important family members. Thus, the animal hospitals increase accordingly. However, tasks executed in animal hospitals are diverse and complicated since the characteristics and body structures for animals are different and, thus, various medical diagnosis and treatment is required. Therefore, a specific information system is crucial to operate and manage the animal hospital. In this thesis, an existing information system used in a medium animal hospital was analyzed. Based on the analysis results a new front-end system for the animal hospital information system was developed so that the shortcomings of the existing system could be improved. Since the functionality of the existing system are versatile and complex, the loading of operating and maintaining the system may overwhelm the IT staffs in a small/medium animal hospital. Besides, due to gradually upgrade of the hardware the original user interface suffers from small and inefficient display frame. And, the medical history composes of two separated parts: text and image. Thus, switching between two types of information on reviewing the medical history introduces latency and causes inconvenience. Thus, a new front-end system was developed to improve these shortcomings. The improvements include: (1) automatically sorting and scheduling the treatments according to the registration, (2) integrating the new part with the existing part of the medical history automatically, and (3) seamlessly composing text and image in medical history. Thus, a front-end system for the information system designed for small/medium animal hospitals was successfully developed in this study. The front-end system supports better usability, higher efficiency, more customized functionality, and lower cost.
