However, most of literatures often add solvent in the process of the polymerization which may pollute the environment. The strategy of this study have the benefit of saving time to remove solvent and promoting the process efficiency. Through free radical polymerization, three co-monomers, BOMA, 2-EHA and S100 would become acrylate oligomers first, and then to mix the reactive diluent BGE, followed by adding cationic photo-initiator, finally UV-curable films can be obtained by illuminating the UV light. The study investigated the effects of viscosity, cured films and thermal properties on the amount of free radical initiator, ratio of 2-EHA : iBOMA (S : H) and UV irradiation time. The experimental results showed that the more contents of free radical initiator leaded to lower viscosity and the more UV irradiation time would provide the higher crosslink of film, the better epoxy conversion, gel content, and thermal stability.
