Description
Summary:碩士 === 嶺東科技大學 === 資訊管理系碩士班 === 104 === The two-dimensional wave motions of small-amplitude wave and finite-amplitude wave (Stokes wave and solitary wave) are visualized applying the Visual Basic program and the Tecplot software to produce the pictures of wave motions. It provides the comprehensions of the differences between the small amplitude wave theory and the finite amplitude wave theory. The windows-interface system is developed using the VB program. We can specify the parameters in the windows interface and obtain the wave profiles from the exact solutions of the wave equation; and then input the data to the Tecplot to produce the pictures varying with time. Therefore, the animated GIF could be made by overlapping these pictures to demonstrate the physical phenomena of wave motion. To compare with the traditional oral presentation in the class, the animation graphics not only give the wave theory formulations but also provide a more complete and active vision of the wave motions. The wave profiles, fluid-particle trajectories, and fluid-particle velocities are shown in this system. Using visualization as a learning tool, students can specify different parameters to present the wave-motion results, and then to consider the physical significance behind the animations. In this way, students can easy to understand the wave phenomenon and inspire their leaning interests.
