According to previous studies, the perception towards crowding would affect the awareness of recreation conflict which would be handled by different coping behaviors. The five research goals are: 1) whether or not the tourists' crowding perceptions would affect their perceptions of recreation conflict; 2) whether or not tourists' perception towards would affect their copying behaviors; 3)Whether the recreation conflict plays as mediated effect between crowding perception and copying behaviors; 4)Whether or not the result would be different in different recreation setting; and 5)Whether or not the result would be different between tourists with different cultural background. The data was collected from December, 2014 to March, 2015 in National Palace Museum and Shinlin night market. The valid sample size is 560 from both sites. The data was analyzed by descriptive, structural equation model and regression model. The study result said that tourists had crowding perception in high level in both recreation settings, experienced low recreation conflict, and preferred to use emotional copying strategy. Furthermore, the relationship among crowding perception, recreation conflict and copying behavior were different per to recreation settings and tourist's cultural background. In National Palace Museum, the recreation conflict had a full mediated effect on the relationship between crowding perception and copying behaviors but this finding is not discovered in Shinlin night market. Of tourists with Eastern cultural background, the recreation conflict had a partial mediated effect on the relationship between crowding perception. Of tourists with Western cultural background, the crowding perception could affect recreation conflict significantly. According to research findings, the study proposed some suggestions for related agencies: 1)National Palace Museum could separate the display area by rearranging the visiting route to minimize the crowding issue; 2)Shihlin night market could enhance the walking route to reduce the interaction caused by counter walking of tourists. Besides the development of management center would be able to provide a place for tourists to file their complaints. CHANG, HSUAN-HSUAN 張軒瑄 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 162 zh-TW
