Both TiO2 nanoparticles and beads were synthesized using microwave-assisted hydrothermal method (MW). The effect of the MW temperature to the TiO2 nanoparticles (PP) was first discussed. It was found that the best synthesis condition of TiO2 nanoparticles is 200 oC and 60 min. The size of the nanoparticles is around 26.4 nm and the grain size is 6.57 nm. The obtained TiO2 nanoparticles exhibit a pure anatase phase with a specific surface area of 268.24 m2/g and porosity of 63.45%. For the DSSC fabrication, a low-temperature paste (binder-free) was used in our study. Except TiO2 nanoparticles (PP), lab-developed TiO2 beads (Beads) and/or commercial P-25 TiO2 were also used to fabricate the stacking photoelectrodes. The mixing the PP and the Beads pastes was also studied. The various photoelectrodes were then used to discuss through the analysis of SEM, UV-Vis, and I-V measurement.
