Vietnam is a populous country with the economy in the development phase should remain quite poor and somewhat inferior to neighboring countries in the Southeast Asia region. So for people with difficult family circumstances, there are no better learning conditions to find a stable job with good salary, they have the desire to go abroad, which would give them one of work with higher wages to improve their lives. Also, many students looking for a modern learning environment for better education, so they choose to study abroad. However, for people leave away from home to study and work in totally alien environment, they will certainly have to face to difficulties. They will have to learn how to live, how to work, how to adapt to other cultures and other languages. Therefore, in order to understand their subjective well-being it is important to understand how well they adapt to the social culture environment in the new environment. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the subjective well-being of Vietnamese college/graduate students and contracted workers in Taiwan. These two groups have different demographic background and very different life circumstance. To understand their quality of life in Taiwan this study use both Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire and social adaptation scale for investigation. The main results suggest Vietnamese students have satisfactory quality of life in Taiwan, whereas Vietnamese Labor has dissatisfactory quality of life in Taiwan. Every component of Subjective Well-Being indicated that Vietnamese students had higher scores than labors. We provide some speculation as to why these differences occur, such as challenge in life, education level, finance situation. But it does require more research to understand better reasons these important differences. Keywords: Subjective well-being, Vietnamese students, Vietnamese labors, Social-adaptation.
