Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 材料科學與工程學系所 === 104 === This study discusses the effects about different proportions of MgO and Al2O3 composition at samples, including the phase composition, the viscosity and foaming properties. The study was designed the five samples which CaO/SiO2 (B2) is fixed at 2.0, FeO is 20 wt.%. Using the efco-northrup furnace gets pre-melted EAF oxidizing slag. The thermodynamic simulation software Thermo-Calc calculates the melting point and the phase fraction. The real composition of the slag samples used XRF-WDS analysis to get, and the FeO content analyisis with the chemical titration method. The high temperature viscosity measurements by DV III RV viscometer. And phases composition of samples analysis with XRD. The results of XRD analysis showed the phases at higher MgO/Al2O3 ratio are the Ca3Mg(SiO2)4 and (Fe,Mg)O. The phases of lower MgO/Al2O3 ratio are the Ca2Al(AlSiO7) and (Fe,Mg)O. And viscosity analysis found the lowest value is only 20.3cP viscosity in all five groups at 1500°C. When MgO/Al2O3 ratio increasing, because of melting point upgrade and precipitate MgO solid particles, the viscosity increased dramatically. Like the viscosity up to 671.85cP at 1500°C. Other side, SiO4- anion bonding changes when the phases change from the Ca3Mg(SiO2)4 to Ca2Al(AlSiO7). So the viscosity is 58.8cP which is higher than 20.3cP. With 439ml/min flow rate, foam height has linear relationship between viscosity at 100cP to 1000cP in the both oxidizing slag and glycerin solution measurement.
