Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 土木工程學系 === 104 === Using polymer modified asphalt (PMA) have to discuss some problems such as storage stability and mixing temperature. In this study, we provide a suitable storage temperature and time on the basis of varieties of physical properties in different storage temperature and time. Besides, according to the trendline of viscosity - shear rate charts, mixing and compaction temperature of PMA can be determine by pushing 134,100 (1/s) shear rate and selecting viscosity with 170 and 280 centipoise (cP). In order to confirm the effect of this mixing temperature using in PMA dense graded concrete, this study compares engineering properties of PMA and traditional asphalt concrete. Finally, the recommended storage temperature is not higher than 170 degrees and time is not more than 5 days. The mixing and compaction temperature of PMA has 20-35 degrees differences in the laboratory and hot mix asphalt (HMA) plant, so it need to consider the actual situation. The resilient modulus, stability value, indirect tension, and wheel track test of PMA concrete met the specification, and are better than traditional asphalt concrete.
