碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 中國文學系現代文學碩士班 === 104 === The thesis focused on Yu Jian’s poetry, researching on the limit of language which was explored in his Nature Writing, the describing techniques and syntax breakthrough in Narrative Writing. We traced on his poetry, to learn how these self-images were formed, and how this living circumstance was revealed. In his Nature Writing, Yu Jian removed the outmoded language and the fetter of Culture, trying to approach the natural essence by using negative sentences. Facing with the both loss of Culture and Nature in this modernization, the poet has rethought profoundly. In his poems featured of the occurrences in life, the poet rotated the conscious by images, along with perceptions and narrations in details. Trivial matters were brought into his works. He paid stress on the changing image of characters, experienced on the rhythm of sentences in order to diversify our reading experience, and developed it into an individual narrative style. The poet especially attended unto the situation of self-dividing, trying to strike a balance among Body, Secular and Mind. Against the monitoring sight from the others, the poet started the conversation directly, and faced to the injury cause by history, and the threat of death. Resisting the flat and homogeneous regulations caused by modernization to build a life situation of multi-dimensional, Yu-Jian has revealed the plentiful appearances of modern Chinese society, and showed up his response toward personal histories and contemporary society in his poets.
