Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系 === 104 === As Tainan station has been built since 1900 A.D., the entire road systems and hardware facilities have been unusable because of the progress of the time and the increase of the population. Ground railways not only cut off the development of the city, but also cause unnecessary environmental pollution, traffic congestion, and the threat to the local residents' life and property, especially barriers to integral quality of the urban environment and the regional development. So, in order to solve road traffic problems, the RENEWAL of the Tainan station is the main target of the urban development nowadays in the 21st century. To improve the problems of the old station area, and to relieve the traffic jam, the renewal tactics of this case will be divided into the following steps: (1) To integrate all the transportation exchanges of the mid/long-distance, and to enhance the fluency and the efficiency of the transportation, re-plan the road design, the integration of the public transportation system, and the development of the new transport hub. (2) To strengthen the connection between each building and community development, the transport hub might be the central nodes to connect with the regional specialties of both western and eastern sides. By suture planning, to strengthen the historic space of the west-central area and the commercial development of the eastern area, and to link the node development districts from the north to the south of the railways. (3) To intensify the space shaping and openness of the train station and the entrance plaza, to combine the green land with the open space properly, to enhance the effects of crowds gathering, and to shape a new station gateway to respond to the historical and cultural image of Tainan. (4) To eliminate the environmental impact of the railways and reduce external cost of trains, the problems of public hazard from noise and vibration should be solved. The train station area will be a people-based living environmental space. (5) The renewal of the station area will boost the economic and social development of the city, increase the use value of the land, the flexibility of the city, the economy of the regions, intensify visual landscape of the city, and combine with heritage preservation to strengthen the entire image of Tainan. (6) To integrate the vertical floor space of the new transport hubs, to plan underground floors to link to the nearby buildings to increase the accessibility; also, to integrate the ground floor space with the outside square and the green space of the transport nubs, the internal and external association could be linked to each other effectively.
