With the young population and the development of emerging market, social network consumption of communication entertainment becomes the most popular product. Moreover, in the society of the Philippines, people have the habit of low saving rates. Low-price and featured packing have been the characteristics of Filipino daily living product. This study takes Filipino immigrant labors in Taipei as subjects, to make a discussion of their consumption behavior on telecommunications. Filipino immigrant labors are far away from their home and pursue their careers in Taiwan. Telecommunications are not only the communication tools to make contacts with their friends in Taiwan or families at home, they also provide them with personal entertainments after work. Telecommunications is the main medium of communication and information transfer of these Filipino immigrants, and it is a part of their life. In this study, through a series of interviews and questionnaires, we realize and find that, to Filipino immigrant labors, besides the income factor, the motivational factors which bring most and direct effects on their consumption behaviors and choices are the different types of works and traffic situations as well as the interactions of their peers. Meanwhile the internet is an important medium of their social communication and interpersonal network. From their choices of telecommunications and consumption behavior, we can learn more about Filipino immigrant labors. The result of this study will not only contribute to the academic research, but also make people know more about Filipino immigrant labors and their lifestyles in Taiwan.
