Surprisingly, when we added 50 mol% of 4-methoxybenzoic acid, the yield and enantioselectivity were improved. In addition, the stereochemistry of product changed from S to R, Finally, We also investigated asymmetric addition of diethylzinc to different aromatic aldehydes.
