Summary:碩士 === 國立中央大學 === 客家語文研究所 === 104 === The author examined the Si-Hai Hakka dialects spoken by four informants in three locations of Taiwan. Based upon studies of Sung-Yen Lu as well as the fieldwork data the author intensively explored the varieties of combination, phonological and lexical features of the Si-Hai Hakka dialects spoken in eastern and western Taiwan. In this study, Si-Hai Hakka dialects refer to the new variety due to the language contact between Sixian Hakka and Hailu Hakka. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 describes the research motives and purpose,research methods, scope and restrictions of the research, as well as literature review, followed by an introduction to the phonology of Sixian Hakka and Hailu Hakka. Chapter 2 contains an overview of the history and geography of eastern and western Taiwan, as well as the phonology of the Si-Hai Hakka dialects spoken in eastern and western Taiwan. Chapter 3 describes the vowels, consonants and tones of the Si-Hai Hakka dialects spoken in eastern and western Taiwan as well as phonetic features and varieties of combination. In Chapter 4, the vocabulary of Shi-Hai Hakka dialects spoken in eastern and western Taiwan were examined based on its morphological structure. Chapter 5,is the summary an overall review and recommendations.
