Using the Internet and IP cameras, this system allows elevator management and maintenance staff to perform preliminary diagnosis and control of the conditions of elevators and ultimately achieve remote monitoring of elevators’ operations. This system consists of WebAccess graphical remote control software, a human-machine interface (HMI), a programmable logic controller (PLC), an elevator, and an IP-CAM. Connected with the elevator, the remote graphical control software can show the actions of the elevator and the PLC status. With the IP-CAM's real-time display of onsite situations, this system allows management staff to monitor elevator operations and maintenance staff to perform a preliminary diagnosis of the problem when failure occurs.
This remote monitoring system uses WebAccess as its platform and connects it to PLC, HMI, and IP-CAM. By integrating IP-CAM's video, PLC's input/output signals, D register data, and HMI display into the WebAccess-based graphical monitoring interface, this system can provide onsite images and statuses of the elevator in real-time and meet the requirements of remote monitoring and control of elevator systems.
