One of the directives of the Republic of China (ROC) military says, "Lack of physical strength will eventually lead to poor combat capabilities." The Ministry of National Defense of ROC had designed physical test since 1993. According to military physical test of several countries (including the United States and Asian countries), the Ministry of National Defense of ROC established new physical test (including 3,000m running, 2-mins Sit-Up and 2-mins Push-Up) in 2009. This study is going to analyze the association between BMI and the scores of physical test. This research is going to use the whole army Push-Up scores in 2014, discussing the standard suitable, and analyzing the association between scores and BMI to understand the importance of BMI. Finally, we will analyze different armed service, gender and age etc. Such models will effectively contribute to the reference uses during unit recruitments, personnel tryouts for promotions or advanced education assignments, and other general assessments. This research shows that there are significant differences between BMI and push-up performance. When the less whose BMI are, the better his push-up performance are. Males with BMI "normal" have the best performance, while females with "thin" are better. In the future, the military physical training can take BMI into consideration. For whose BMI over “Mild obesity”, their push-up performance will upgrade by control of food and professional training course. SHIH, YUH-CHUAN 石裕川 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 56 zh-TW
