Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 藝術教育與創作碩士班 === 104 === This study explores my works created between 2013 and 2016, discussing the wealth of my personal experiences related to weight loss, and the artistic expression generated by this powerful experience. Using visual images, the long-lasting memories of weight loss and the rejection and hatred of obesity patterns are transformed into a beautiful image, which is used to reflect upon personal definitions of beauty, distilling these into a positive self-affirmation of the body image. This study focuses on three series of art works: Facebook check-in records, visual presentations of food, and line drawings—to explore the works of related artists and corresponding thought trajectories in the study of beauty. The study attempts to use the topic of food to extend the possibilities of creative works to complete the self-healing of the body and soul. This study is presented in five sections. In the first section, Introduction, I explain my creative motivation, research methods and research content, and analyze my thinking and creativity through the weight-loss period. In the second section, The Artistic Food Path, I employ a record of my visiting the 2016 Milan World Expo to discuss the possibility of using food as a medium of creation, as well as the creation of a dialogue with weight loss. Using these three creative forms of Facebook check-in records, visual presentation of foods, and line drawings, my study establishes food as a platform of visual art. In the third section, The Drawing Path, I employ the style of line drawings and artists of these drawings to analyze the artistic expressions represented in individual drawings. In the fourth section, Interpretation of Art Works, I utilize the above-mentioned three series of art works made in this four-year period of graduate study to interpret and analyze the circumstances surrounding creation. In the fifth section, Conclusions, I reflect on and consider the outlook for the creations and writings of this study. It is hoped that my artistic journey, “Beauty Plan” from inside to out, can bring about new aesthetic values.
