Because of the researcher’s indescribable fondness for high heels and because wedding shoes worn for major events such as weddings symbolize the beginning of happiness, this paper explored the female consumers’ aesthetic preference for the “wedding shoes” design. It elaborates on the correlation between age and wedding shoes design, interprets the image of ideal wedding shoes and bride styling and the connection between a wedding and marriage, and analyzes the implicit cultural significance of the female consumers’ “wedding shoes” purchase behavioral model. A survey was conducted in this study, with 172 domestic brides-to-be as the research participants. Through the survey, the assessment criteria and aesthetic preferences for the wedding shoes bought were investigated. Then, the Likert Scale was used as the survey measurement method. Through frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation and percentage methods, the factors were compiled and described, through which the sample distribution status and summary were shown. The “adjective vocabulary analysis” was then adopted for the participants to describe in words the imagery of wedding shoes, marriage, wedding and bride concept formed by the brides in their minds. The findings show that the women preferred closed-toe shoe style, pink and white colors, plain shoe design, and heels from 4-6cm high, while the women least preferred sandals, open-toe shoe style, black color, complex designs and heels that were more than 8cm high. The women were willing to pay slightly more for wedding shoes than what they were normally willing to pay for other kinds of shoes. Based on the above research findings, it was proposed in this study that the wedding shoes industry must take into account aesthetics, ergonomics and cultural significance. On the other hand, despite the factors of the female consumers’ personal preferences for style when choosing wedding shoes to buy, comfort was a crucial factor constituting a perfect pair of wedding shoes. This finding shall serve as a reference for follow-up designers, so that wedding shoes worn during one’s important moment in life will not only look beautiful and dazzling, but will also provide the best comfort, just as what a beautiful marriage everyone longs for is all about.
