Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 營建工程研究所 === 104 === In recent years, construction projects have become larger and more complex in Taiwan, and hence traditional construction management cannot entirely meet the requirements of the construction industry. The body of knowledge embodied in project manager training programs offers the possibility of improving the method for construction project implementation. In order to understand how the construction industry at present see project manager training programs, this study conducted a questionnaire survey for investigating the degrees of acceptance among practitioners in the construction industry towards the courses and certification of project manager meeting the requirements of the construction industry. The questionnaire comprises 15 questions on project management courses and five questions on certification of project manager. Various analyses were conducted on the collected data from the survey, including reliability tests, descriptive statistics, and equality tests of group means. The results show that, among project management courses, “construction project management requires establishing the standards and procedures for quality management and carrying out them firmly so as to ensure achievement of quality objectives” gained the greatest acceptance from the respondents. With regard to certification of project manager, “certification and institutionalizing of project management professionals in the construction industry so that construction project participants possess essential knowledge and skills for project management will help improve the performance of the industry generally” gained the greatest acceptance.
